Gas Rate is designed to rate an appliance working at maximum load. There are two types of gas meter that this is designed for (both domestic size):
- The Metric Gas Meter
- The Imperial Gas Meter
All calculators are designed to be used on site and available from the Toolbox section of the TradeHelp mobile app.

The Metric Meter
- Select Toolbox from the main menu
- Go to Heating Calculators and select Gas Rate from the menu
- Select unit of measurement: Select Metric
- Turn off all gas appliances
- Take the initial reading from the meter. This should be entered in the format XX.XXX, it is important to include the decimal point and all decimal places
- Turn on all appliances and ensure they are working to maximum load
- Start the Timer and it will count down from 2 mins to zero
- At the point it reaches zero take the new reading from the gas meter, again in the format of XX.XXX with the decimal point in the correct place
- Press Get Result and the readings to rate the gas flow will be displayed
- Select Done to finish or Reset to start again
The Imperial Meter
- Select Toolbox from the main menu
- Go to Heating Calculators and select Gas Rate from the menu
- Select unit of measurement: Select Imperial
- Turn off all gas appliances
- To start the test turn on all appliances and ensure they are working to maximum load
- Start the timer and observe the meter dial position
- Wait until the meter dial has moved one complete revolution and stop the timer
- Press Get Result and the readings to rate the gas flow will be displayed
- Select Done to finish or Reset to start again
